【 Main Problem 】Covid Positive for 1 day

Yesterday morning tested covid positive signed. But the body never shows any symptoms.

In the afternoon, Miss Tham started to get a fever at body temperature of 38°C. She feels cold, heavy head and sleepy. She slept for the whole afternoon yesterday.

Per conversation via telephone, she has a heavy headache, no sore throat, a heavy dry cough which hardly sees the phlegm and nose block. Morning, Miss Tham finds eye feces appearing. Due to the stiffness of body joints, she hardly turned her body to either left or right, and sleep straight instead. Appetite gone down, taste and smell are all fine too. No sweat and no bloated stomach. Drink much water and urinating increase, the color showed yellow. Everyday her bowel movement is smooth and in shaped.

Tongue diagnosis:Thickening white coat covering the top layer of the tongue.


25 June 2022 – Feedback from the patient via telephone:

After consumed the medicine, the headache is still heavy the following day. She did a rehabilitation meditation besides taking few minutes of deep breath. Her cough reduced much after taken the herbs. Even though she has no sore throat, she taken the throat lozenge as a preventive action. Besides, she also consumes anti-inflammation honey as well as propolis spray, vitamin C, D and zinc tablet.

The following third day, she feels much better and evaluate herself has recovered 90%. The cough has stopped significantly, she only cough once In a while. Checked the marker of test kit, it still shows double lines.

On the 9th day of having covid, she has recoverd thoroughly. Unfortunately, the marker of test kit still shows double lines, with the second line which is very much lighter. She continues to isolate herself until fully recover then only back to office.

Tongue diagnosis:Thickening white coat covering the top layer of the tongue has disappeared.

 

Diagnosis:

Base on the conversation over the phone, she caught the covid flu by interacting with colleagues.

Even though the first day morning the test kit marker did not show any result.

She starts to feel all the symptoms in the afternoon gradually. For example: she gets a fever at body temperature of 38°C, feels cold, heavy head and sleepy. She slept for the whole afternoon. Due to the stiffness of body joints, she hardly turned her body to either left or right, and sleep straight instead.

Base on the symptoms such as heavy head, headache, bone ache and fever, TCM regards them as the battle of “qi” inside the body and “qi” of attacker (bacteria or virus).When “qi” of the body is weaker than “qi” of attacker, the symptoms will be procrastinated and become worse. During the recovery stage, “qi” inside the body is stronger than “qi” of attacker. Then, the symptoms will get mitigated and remediated.

 

After recovery, we need to have a balance diet:

【1】If we still get coughing with white color or transparent phlegm, drink more ginger and cinnamon tea. Cinnamon will warm up the body of people who categorized as cold type of traits in the body, strengthening the immunity system too.

【2】If we still get coughing with yellow color phlegm, eat variety of fruits, drink tea (mint tea, mulberry leaves tea, mulberry, edible burdock etc.) to stop the heaty type of cough.

【3】Distended chest. Drink tea or soup that helps to release the bloated outspread feeling at the chest. For instance, “Chinese cucumber” or “Chinese snake gourd” soup, mix with “Chinese scallion”( Allium chinense).

【4】Drink Chinese herbal soup which help to soothe and relieve the chest oppression. One of the soup named as “Liu Wei” consists of lily bulbs, lotus seed, prickly water lily (Gorgon plant), dried longan fruit, scented Solomon’s seal, Chinese Yam etc. The benefits of the drink help strengthening the stomach, soothing the lung and stop the cough, building up stamina. In additional, we can also drink the soup of “Si Shen” which consists of fungus in the family of Polyporaceae, Chinese Yam, lotus seed and prickly water lily (Gorgon plant).

 

Some tips for our daily life styles:

  1. We need to do more protection for body in our lifestyles. Eg:we wear thicker jackets in a cold environment such as air-conditioned room.
  2. Whenever we leave the home, do a good sop on self-sanitizing such as wearing mask, washing hand frequently.
  3. Cultivate a good habit of sleep early and wake up early in the morning.
  4. Avoid taking all cold drinks and cold food taken right from the refrigerator.
  5. If the body is cooling, eat warm heated and cooked food or warm water.
  6. Have a good bowel movement habit.
  7. Maintain good relationship with family and friends, and always be a pleasant and calmful person.
  8. After recovery, go to natural and recreational park to do more exercise.
