Main Problem:dizziness cum vomit for past two weeks

【The Cause】
She elaborates: “I went to Sabah ~ Sipadan for a trip with family two weeks ago. We had a fun snorkeling session. But after come back home, I started to have dizziness cum vomit. I had been vomiting for past two weeks. I am really weak today.

After coming back from the trip, the problem of dizziness and vomiting is significant. Besides, another symptom is stomach discomfort. Whenever she intakes the oily food, she feels nausea. In additional, she gets hungry faster than last time. There is no bloated stomach and no rising “qi” in the esophagus. Due to the coolness in the body, she feels stomach better after having some warm water. Dizziness also reduced after she gets some rest. One of the obvious side effects is she feels easily got frightening occasionally.

She tells that her sleep is worse due to the stiff neck and neck ache issue. Her body is heaty with a bitterness mouth. After woke up from asleep, eye feces appear. Everyday bowel movement is regular and she has a fluffier and softening stool for past few days. She had experiencing menopause for past one year and gone 12 months without menstrual cycle.

After the diagnosis, the root cause is due to the cold and wind immerse into the body and causing our “qi” disorder in the stomach and gallbladder. So, we prescribe the herbs for this remedy purpose and let her consume the herbs for 2 days continuously, twice daily. In additional, we perform an acupuncture treatment as well.

 

26062022 Second consultation:

After the first visit, Madam Liu feels that the acupuncture has improved the quality of sleep.

The frequency of dizziness cut down to once in the past one week. As of today, the dizziness did not appear at all.

Today she has no vomit as well.Stomach discomfort has also disappeared. After finish consuming the herbal medicine, she encountered new symptoms which is she feels bloated stomach and stomach ache after half an hour having rice. The stiff neck and neck ache has also reduced, it did happen once in a while. The feeling of getting hungry faster has reduced as well. She encounters the sleeping quality improved as she is able to fall asleep and dreams during the sleep. Her breathing is short. Yesterday, she started to feel sore throat. For past two days, she has to push to urge the feeling for bowel movement.

Diagnosis:

The main problem of the patient is dizziness cum vomit for the past two weeks.

Due to the weakening and cold traits of body category, she could easily caught by flu when she goes for beaching. The symptoms of flu like neck stiff and neck ache, feverish body will appear.

At a second stage, the cold and wind immerse into the body and causing our “qi” disorder in the stomach and gallbladder. As a result, body becomes heaty and she will feel bitterness in the mouth, nausea, vomit, easy frightening and insomnia. After doing acupuncture and treatment, all symptoms have slowly mitigated. She felt dizziness once ever since acupuncture. Besides, she observes new symptoms such as sore throat and not fluent bowel movement. Treatment has to be continued then.

 

Some tips to pay attention in the daily routines during outdoor water activities:

1. We need to do more warming protection for the body.

For instance: If one person is having a weaker digestive system and participates in some outdoor water activities, be remembered to do warming protection for the body. After swimming, we must remember to use towel to cover the body immediately. If we shower, we ought to ensure to wear a dry shirt and pant. The costume is preferably to cover part of the body which easily attack by the wind or dampness. For example: neck, belly button, feet etc.

2. Drink warm water for building the warmness in the stomach.

After we finish enjoying outdoor water activities, highly recommended all of us to drink a cup of warm hot water; soup mix by ginger with scallion (the end part white stem). This will help to do the first protection from the attack of cold.

3. After we enjoy water activities, our hair is wet. So we quickly get a shower and wash the hair, follow by the habit of drying the hair immediately.

4. We are highly advised not to drink cold drinks or cold food.

For most people who have a cooler stomach, their palm or feet easily get cold. They are likely to get flu such as coughing, running nose etc. That is the reason why we are prohibited from taking cold drinks or cold food after water activities.

5. Maintain a good habit of bowel movement.

Many people when they go for outdoor trip, their cycle of bowel movement become disorder; hence sometimes they will miss the time and eventually causing a constipation problem. We will suggest them to do some exercise to help improve the bowel movement habit. If we have a good habit of bowel movement, body is not so heaty internally and would not get sick easily.
